Mercilon is a combined oral contraceptive designed to prevent unwanted pregnancy. It contains low doses of hormones, which reduces the risk of side effects. Composition: Each tablet contains: • Desogestrel — 0.15 mg (a synthetic progestogen). Pharmacological properties: • Suppresses ovulation (prevents the release of an egg from the ovary). • Thickens cervical mucus, making it difficult for sperm to enter the uterus. • Alters the structure of the endometrium, preventing implantation of a fertilized egg. • Regulates the menstrual cycle and reduces the intensity of menstrual pain. Indications for use: • Contraception (prevention of pregnancy) • May also be prescribed to normalize hormonal balance in cases of acne, irregular menstruation, and other gynecological conditions (as directed by a physician). Method of administration: • Take one tablet daily for 21 consecutive days. • Then take a 7-day break, during which withdrawal bleeding occurs. • Start the next pack on the 8th day, even if the bleeding has not stopped. • Tablets should be taken at the same time each day.
