Hibiotic 1 gm 16 tablets

Available at Pharmaegy Pharmacy. Use as directed by your doctor.

Hibiotic 1 g 16 capsules Composition: Each tablet contains: Amoxicillin (as amoxicillin trihydrate) 875 mg Clavulanic acid (as potassium clavulanate) 125 mg Excipients: Anhydrous lactose, crosscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, purified talc, colloidal silicon dioxide, titanium dioxide. Description: Hibiotic 1 g is a combined broad-spectrum antibiotic containing amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxicillin is effective against many gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms; however, it is susceptible to degradation by β-lactamases. Clavulanic acid, a β-lactamase inhibitor, protects amoxicillin from these enzymes and extends its antibacterial spectrum. Indications for Use: -Hibiotic 1 g is used for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to the drug, including: -Upper respiratory tract and ENT infections (e.g., recurrent tonsillitis, sinusitis, acute otitis media). -Lower respiratory tract infections: exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, lobar pneumonia, bronchopneumonia. -Urinary tract infections: cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, infections of the female genital tract. -Gonorrhea caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae. -Skin and soft tissue infections. -Bone and joint infections (e.g., osteomyelitis). Dosage and Administration: The drug is taken orally. Hibiotic 1 g is intended for adults and children weighing over 40 kg. For optimal absorption and to reduce potential side effects on the digestive system, Hibiotic is recommended to be taken at the beginning of a meal. The minimum course of antibiotic therapy is 5 days. Treatment should not exceed 14 days without re-evaluating the clinical situation. The recommended dosage is 1 tablet twice a day. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to amoxicillin, clavulanic acid, other components of the drug, or β-lactam antibiotics (e.g., penicillins, cephalosporins). Previous episodes of jaundice or liver dysfunction related to the use of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. Phenylketonuria. Precautions: -Before starting treatment, a detailed history of hypersensitivity reactions to penicillins, cephalosporins, or other allergens should be taken. -Serious, sometimes fatal, hypersensitivity reactions (anaphylaxis) to penicillins have been reported. The risk is higher in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to penicillins. -If an allergic reaction occurs, treatment with Hibiotic should be discontinued, and appropriate alternative therapy should be started. Side Effects: -Infectious and parasitic diseases: Frequent - skin and mucosal candidiasis. -Hematologic disorders: Rare - reversible leukopenia (including neutropenia), reversible thrombocytopenia; very rare - reversible agranulocytosis, reversible hemolytic anemia, prolonged prothrombin time and bleeding time, anemia, eosinophilia, thrombocytosis. -Immune system disorders: Very rare - angioedema, anaphylactic reactions, serum sickness-like syndrome, allergic vasculitis. -Nervous system disorders: Uncommon - dizziness, headache; very rare - reversible hyperactivity, seizures (seizures may occur in patients with kidney dysfunction or those receiving high doses of the drug), insomnia, agitation, anxiety, behavioral changes. -Gastrointestinal disorders: Very common - diarrhea; common - nausea, vomiting; in children - common - diarrhea, nausea, vomiting. Nausea is most frequently observed when taking high doses of the drug. -Hepatic and biliary system disorders: Uncommon - moderate elevation in AST and/or ALT activity (observed in patients receiving β-lactam antibiotic therapy, but its clinical significance is unknown). Pregnancy and Lactation: The use of this drug during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended due to insufficient safety data. Storage Conditions: Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C in a dry place. Keep out of reach of children. Packaging: The carton box contains a paper instruction and 2 blisters, each with 8 tablets.
