Amrizole 125 mg/ 5 ml suspension 120ml
Available at Pharmaegy Pharmacy. Use as directed by your doctor.
Trade Name: Amrizol Composition: Each 5 ml of suspension contains: Benzyl metronidazole 200 mg ORAn Auxiliary components: Sodium phosphate monobasic, methyl parahydroxy benzoate, propyl parahydroxy benzoate, aluminum magnesium silicate, sucrose, banana flavor, glycerol, ethanol, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, purified water. Properties: Antiprotozoal and antimicrobial drug derived from 5-nitroimidazole. The mechanism of action consists in the biochemical reduction of the 5-nitro group by intracellular transport proteins of anaerobic microorganisms and protozoa. The reduced 5nitro group interacts with deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) of microbial cells, inhibiting the synthesis of their nucleic acids, which leads to the death of bacteria. Indications: Protozoal infections: extraintestinal amebiasis, including amoebic liver abscess, intestinal amebiasis (amoebic dysentery), trichomonia (including trichomonas vaginitis, trichomonas urethritis). Infections caused by Bacteroides spp. (including Bacteroides fragilis, Bacteroides distasonis, Bacteroides ovatus, Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron, Bacteroides vulgatus): Infections of bones and joints, infections of the central nervous system (CNS), incl. meningitis, brain abscess, bacterial endocarditis, pneumonia, empyema and lung abscess, sepsis. Infections caused by the species Clostridium spp., Peptococcus niger and Peptostreptococcus spp.: infections of the abdominal cavity (peritonitis, liver abscess), infections of the pelvic organs (endometritis, abscess of the fallopian tubes and ovaries, infections of the vaginal vault). Pseudomembranous colitis (associated with the use of antibiotics). Gastritis or duodenal ulcer associated with Helicobacter pylori. Prevention of postoperative complications (especially interventions on the colon, nearrectal region, pendectomy, gynecological operations). Radiation therapy for patients with tumors – as a radiosensitizing agent, in cases where tumor resistance is due to hypoxia in tumor cells. Method of administration and dosage: The optimal course of treatment is prepared by the doctor after the examination. Adults and children over 10 years old: Inside, during or after a meal (preferably with milk). With trichomoniasis – 200 mg 3 times a day for 10 days or 400 mg 2 times a day for 57 days. For children from 1 to 10 years old, the dose is calculated by the formula: 40mg/kg single dose or 15-30mg/kg/day divided into 2 or 3 doses. The course of treatment is 7 days Contraindications: Hypersensitivity, leukopenia (including a history), organic lesions of the central nervous system (CNS) (including epilepsy), liver failure (in the case of large doses), pregnancy (l trimester), lactation. With care: pregnancy (Ill trimesters), renal / hepatic failure. Precautionary measures: With prolonged therapy, it is necessary to Control the blood picture. With leukopenia, the possibility of continuing treatment depends on the risk of developing an infectious process. The appearance of ataxia, dizziness and any other deterioration of the neurological condition of patients requires discontinuation of treatment. May immobilize treponema and lead to false positive Nelson’s test. Stains urine dark. When treating Trichomonas vaginitis in women and Trichomonas urethritis in men, it is necessary to refrain from sexual activity. Simultaneous treatment of sexual partners is mandatory. Treatment does not stop during menses. After trichomoniasis therapy, control tests should be performed for three successful cycles before and after menstruation. Side effects: From the digestive system: diarrhea, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, intestinal colic, constipati “metallic” taste in the mouth, dry mouth, glossitis, stomatitis, pancreatitis. From the nervous system: dizziness, impaired coordination of movements, ataxia, confusion, irritability, depression, increased excitability, weakness, insomnia, headache, convulsions, hallucinations, peripheral neuropathy. Allergic reactions: urticaria, skin rash, skin flushing, nasal congestion, fever, arthralgia.
