Each 5 ml syrup contains:
Tiemonium methylsulphate 10 mg
Properties :
Mixed antispasmodic:
-Musculotropic
-Anticholinergic
-Tiemonium is a quaternary ammonium antimuscarinic agent with peripheral effects similar to those of atropine.
-Tiemonium strengthens calcium bonding with phospholipids and proteins thus stabilizing the cell membrane of the smooth muscles.
Indications:
-Symptomatic treatment of pain related to functional disorders of the digestive tract and biliary system.
-Treatment of spasm and pain in the urinary tract and in gynecology.
Dosage and administration:
The usual dosage of TIMOGEN is:
Children: 3 teaspoons/5 kg body weight /day
Adults: 1 to 3 tablespoons, 3 times a day
Side effects:
Tiemonium Methylsulphate may have the risk of hypotension and tachycardia in certain individuals.
Contraindications:
-Urethroprostatic disorders involving a risk of urine retention.
-Risk of angle-closure glaucoma.
Warnings and precautions:
Pregnancy and breast-feeding:
-The results of animal studies of tiemonium did not reveal any teratogenic effects.
-Although these results do not prejudge the effects in men. No deformities have been reported up till now with normal use.
-In the absence of sufficient data, prudence should be the rule for nursing mothers although no problems were reported with normal use.
Caution should be taken during treatment of patients with disorders of the prostate.
Caution should also be taken in case of chronic bronchitis, coronary insufficiency, ambient hyperthermia, renal and hepatic insufficiency.
The risks of visual disturbances can make it dangerous to drive or use machines.
To be used under medical supervision.
