Spasmorest 10 mg 20 tablets
Available at Pharmaegy Pharmacy. Use as directed by your doctor.
Tradename:
Spasmorest
Composition:
Each tablet contains:
Dicyclomine hydrochloride 10 mg
Auxiliary components:
Anhydrous lactose, povidone, crospovidone, magnesium stearate.
Properties:
Spasmolytic, myotropic, anticholinergic.
Eliminates spasm of smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract and reduces the pain syndrome caused by it. In animal studies (in vitro using the isolated small intestine of a guinea pig), it was shown that the effect is mediated by two mechanisms: first, a specific anticholinergic effect on acetylcholine receptor sites, similar to the action of atropine
(antimuscarinic activity), and secondly, a direct effect on smooth muscles, as evidenced by the ability of dicyclomine to block bradykinin- and histamine-induced spasms (atropine does not alter the response to these two agonists). It was shown that there was no significant effect of dicyclomine on the pupil (in tests for evaluating mydriatic effects in mice, the activity was approximately 1/500 of the activity of atropine),
Indications:
For the treatment of functional irritable bowel syndrome.
Method of administration and dosage:
Adults in the acute period of the disease 160 mg per day (divided into 4 doses).
After improving the condition, take 80 mg per day (divided into 4 doses). The course of treatment is no longer than 2 weeks.
Children 6-24 months: 5-10 mg 3-4 times a day, 15 minutes before meals.
Children 2-12 years old: 10 mg 3 times a day.
Children 12-18 years old: 10-20 mg 3 times a day.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity, obstructive diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (gastrointestinal tract), hepatic and urinary tract, severe ulcerative colitis (when used in high doses, intestinal peristalsis may decrease, up to the development of paralytic intestinal obstruction; use can contribute to the appearance or exacerbation of such a serious complication toxic megacolon), gastric ulcer and duoden ulcer, reflux esophagitis, unstable state of the cardiovascular system, with acute bleeding,
Glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, in children up to 6 months.
Precautions:
It is prescribed with caution at a high ambient temperature (due to a decrease in sweating, the likelihood of hyperthermia and heatstroke increases). It should be borne in mind that diarrhea can be an early symptom of incomplete intestinal obstruction, especially in patients with ileostomy or colostomy. In these cases, treatment with dicyclomine hydrochloride is not indicated and may be dangerous.
Side effects:
Dry mouth, dizziness, blurred vision, nausea, drowsiness, weakness, nervousness, constipation, loss of taste, anorexia, increased intraocular pressure, tachycardia, decreased sweating, allergic reactions.
