Tradename:
Spasmomen
Composition:
Each tablet contains:
otylonium bromide 40 mg
Properties:
Otilonium bromide – the active substance of the drug Spasmomen – is a myotropic antispasmodic: it lowers the tone of the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract. The mechanism of action is reduced to the ability of otylonium bromide to influence the transport of Ca2 + ions in the intra- and extracellular space, as well as to block Ca2 + channels, muscarinic and tachykinin receptors. The combination of the properties of a Ca2 + channel blocker and a moderately pronounced antimuscarinic action explains the pharmacological action of otylonium bromide.
Indications:
-spastic states, dyskinesia (hyperkinetic type) of the digestive tract (esophagitis, gastritis, duodenitis, enteritis, irritable bowel syndrome);
preparation of patients for endoscopic examination of the gastrointestinal tract.
Method of administration and dosage:
Unless otherwise prescribed, Spasmomen should be taken orally 1 tablet 2-3 times a day.
Contraindications:
-increased sensitivity to otylonium bromide or other components of the drug;
children under 3 years old.
With care: glaucoma; pyloric stenosis; hypertrophy of the prostate.
Precautions:
Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and control mechanisms
There were no reports of the negative effect of the drug on the ability to drive vehicles and control mechanisms.
Side effects:
When taking the drug Spasmomen in therapeutic doses, no side effects have been identified, in particular, the drug does not cause atropinone-like reactions.
In rare cases, allergic reactions are possible.
