Indications:
A broad-spectrum anthelmintic used to treat intestinal infections caused by various types of worms, such as:
Pinworms
Roundworms
Tapeworms
Trichinosis
Streptococcosis
Mixed worm infections
Cystococcal infection associated with nervous system infection
Mechanism of Action:
The drug prevents glucose absorption into the parasite cells, leading to their energy depletion and death. They are then eliminated in the feces.
Dosage and Directions:
Adults and children over 2 years: One tablet or as directed by the physician.
In some cases, the dose may need to be repeated after two weeks.
Taken with food to increase absorption.
Swallow the tablet whole with a sufficient amount of water.
Precautions:
Do not use during pregnancy, especially during the first trimester.
Caution should be exercised in cases of liver disease.
Contraindicated for those allergic to albendazole or its derivatives.
