Nanazoxid, 18 film-coated tablets Composition: Each tablet contains: Nitazoxanide — 500 mg Description: Nanazoxid contains the active ingredient nitazoxanide, a synthetic antiprotozoal agent for oral use. Its antiparasitic activity is primarily due to the inhibition of the pyruvate:ferredoxin oxidoreductase (PFOR) enzyme-dependent electron transfer essential for anaerobic metabolism. This disrupts the energy metabolism of parasites such as Giardia lamblia and Cryptosporidium parvum. Other mechanisms of action may also contribute to its efficacy. Indications for Use: Treatment of diarrhea caused by Giardia lamblia or Cryptosporidium parvum, for patients 12 years and older Dosage and Administration: For treatment of diarrhea caused by Giardia lamblia or Cryptosporidium parvum: Patients aged 12 years and older: 1 tablet (500 mg) every 12 hours with food. Tablets are not suitable for use in children under 12 years due to high dosage. Contraindications: — Hypersensitivity to nitazoxanide or any of the components of the formulation — Pediatric use under 12 years of age (for tablet form) Precautions: — Tablets should be taken with food. — Not recommended for use in children under 12 years. — Use with caution during pregnancy and lactation. — It is unknown whether nitazoxanide is excreted in human milk. Adverse Effects: Adverse events reported in less than 1% of patients aged 12 years and older: — General: asthenia, fever, pain, allergic reactions, pelvic pain, chills, flu-like symptoms — Nervous system: dizziness, drowsiness, insomnia, tremor, hypesthesia — Digestive system: vomiting, dyspepsia, anorexia, flatulence, constipation, dry mouth, thirst — Urogenital system: discolored urine, dysuria, amenorrhea, metrorrhagia, kidney pain — Metabolic and nutrition: increased SGPT — Hemic and lymphatic: anemia, leukocytosis — Skin: rash, pruritus — Special senses: eye discoloration, earache — Respiratory system: epistaxis, pharyngitis, lung disease — Cardiovascular system: tachycardia, syncope, hypertension — Musculoskeletal system: myalgia, leg cramps, spontaneous bone fracture Storage Conditions: Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C in a dry place. Keep out of reach of children. Packaging: Carton box containing 3 strips; each strip contains 6 tablets (total 18 tablets) with an insert leaflet.
