Indications:
Epimeraflu is used to treat and prevent viral infections caused by influenza A and B viruses. It is indicated in the following cases:
Treatment of influenza in adults, adolescents, and children over 1 year of age
Prevention of infection after exposure to a confirmed case within the family or community
Reducing the duration and severity of symptoms after infection
Mechanism of Action:
Oseltamivir is an antiviral drug that works by inhibiting neuraminidase, an enzyme necessary for the replication and spread of the influenza virus within the body. Thus, it helps reduce the spread of the virus and relieve symptoms.
Dosage and Administration:
For treatment: One capsule (75 mg) twice daily for 5 days.
For prevention: One capsule (75 mg) once daily for 7 to 10 days after exposure.
The capsules should be taken whole with plenty of water, with or without food.
Precautions:
Do not use if you have a known allergy to oseltamivir or any of the ingredients.
Consult a physician if you have kidney or liver impairment.
Use with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding and under medical supervision.
Do not use in children under one year of age unless specifically directed by a doctor.
