Curisafe 500 mg, 8 caps Composition Each capsule contains: • Cefadroxil monohydrate (equivalent to cefadroxil) - 500 mg :Pharmacological properties Cefadroxil is a beta-lactam antibiotic with a bactericidal effect: 1. Mechanism of action: • Disrupts the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall, which leads to their death • Effective against streptococci, staphylococci, E. coli, Klebsiella, Proteus mirabilis, etc. 2. Pharmacokinetics: • Well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract • Maintains an active concentration in the blood for a long time (up to 12 hours) • Excreted mainly by the kidneys Indications for use: • Upper respiratory tract infections (pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis) • Urinary tract infections (cystitis, urethritis) • Skin and soft tissue infections • Prevention of rheumatism in streptococcal pharyngitis (in case of penicillin intolerance) Method of administration and dosage: • Adults: 500 mg 2 times a day (every 12 hours) • For severe infections - up to 1 g 2 times a day • Duration of treatment: 7-10 days • The tablet should be washed down with water, can be taken regardless of food Note: the dosage may be adjusted by the doctor depending on age, severity of the infection and kidney function.
