Active ingredients:
- Amoxicillin 250 mg
- Flucloxacillin 250 mg.
Description:
Combined broad-spectrum antibiotic from the penicillin group. Amoxicillin acts on gram-negative bacteria, flucloxacillin on penicillinase-producing staphylococci. Used for mixed bacterial infections.
Indications:
ENT infections: tonsillitis, sinusitis, otitis media. Skin and soft tissue infections. Mixed infections caused by susceptible pathogens.
Dosage and Administration:
Adults and children from 6 years: Standard dose: 1.5 g/day in 3 doses (1 cap. 500 mg or 2 caps. 250 mg every 8 hours). Severe infections: Dose may be increased to 3–4 g/day. Administration: 1 hour before or 2–4 hours after meals, with water.
Duration:
Minimum 7–10 days.
For streptococcal infections — at least 10 days to prevent complications.
Special groups:
Renal impairment (GFR <30 mL/min): Dose and interval adjustment. Hepatic impairment: No adjustment needed if renal function is normal. Children under 6 years: Not recommended (aspiration risk).
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to penicillins, cephalosporins, or other beta-lactams. History of cholestatic jaundice with flucloxacillin. Infectious mononucleosis, lymphocytic leukemia.
Precautions:
Allergic reactions: Cross-allergy with cephalosporins. Discontinue immediately if rash or edema occurs. Pseudomembranous colitis: Discontinue treatment and initiate appropriate therapy if diarrhea occurs. Liver: Risk of cholestatic jaundice with prolonged use (>2 weeks), especially in the elderly.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Only if benefits outweigh risks. Excreted in breast milk.
Adverse Effects:
Common (>1%): Nausea, diarrhea, skin rash. Rare (<0.1%): Pseudomembranous colitis, cholestatic jaundice, agranulocytosis. Anaphylaxis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome. Discontinue immediately if severe reactions occur.
Storage:
Store below 30°C in a dry place.
