Ciprofloxacin 250 mg 10 tablets Composition: Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride (equivalent to ciprofloxacin) - 250 mg Pharmacological properties: Ciprofloxacin is a bactericidal antibiotic of the fluoroquinolone series: 1. Mechanism of action: Suppresses DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV of bacteria Disrupts DNA replication and transcription Causes death of bacterial cells 2. Antibacterial spectrum: Effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria Includes: E. coli, Klebsiella, Proteus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Neisseria, Haemophilus influenzae, Staphylococcus aureus, etc. Indications for use: Urinary tract infections (cystitis, pyelonephritis) Respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, sinusitis, pneumonia) Skin and soft tissue infections Gastrointestinal infections (including salmonellosis, shigellosis) Gonorrhea, prostatitis Prevention and treatment of anthrax (inhalation form) Method of administration and dosage: Usual dose for adults: — 250–750 mg 2 times a day, depending on the severity of the infection Duration of treatment: — From 3 to 14 days (sometimes longer for complicated infections) Swallow the tablets whole, wash down with a sufficient amount of water Take 1–2 hours before meals or 2 hours after It is important to avoid simultaneous use with antacids, iron, calcium or magnesium preparations - they reduce the absorption of ciprofloxacin.
