Available at Pharmaegy Pharmacy. Use as directed by your doctor.

Aprovel 150 mg 14 tablets Arterial hypertension. Treatment of kidney disease in adult patients with arterial hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus (as part of combined antihypertensive therapy). Description of the drug Tradename: Aprovel Aprovel Composition: Each p/ o tablet contains: Irbesartan – 150mg. Auxiliary components: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, hypromellose, silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide, macrogol 3000, carnauba wax. Description: Irbesartan is a potent, active, selective angiotensin Il receptor antagonist (type ATI). Blocks all actions of angiotensin-ll (type ATI), regardless of the source or route of synthesis of angiotensin-ll, leads to an increase in plasma renin levels and angiotensin-ll levels and a decrease in plasma aldosterone concentration. Serum potassium levels are not significantly affected by irbesartan alone at recommended doses. Irbesartan does not inhibit ACE (kininase-l), an enzyme that generates angiotensin-ll, and also degrades bradykinin to inactive metabolites. Irbesart does not require metabolic activation for its activity. Indications: arterial hypertension. Treatment of kidney disease in adult patients with arterial hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus (as part of combined antihypertensive therapy). Mode of application: the drug is taken orally, regardless of food intake. The tablet is swallowed whole with water. An initial and maintenance dose of 150 mg once a day is usually recommended. At this dose, it provides better blood pressure control within 24 hours than 75 mg. But, you can start with 75 mg, especially in hemodialized patients and in the elderly over 75 years. In patients who are insufficiently controlled at 150 mg once a day, the dose of the drug may be increased to 300 mg, or other antihypertensive agents may be used. In case of insufficient decrease in blood pressure during monotherapy with irbesartan, diuretics (hydrochlorothiazide) or other antihypertensive drugs may be added to the treatment. In type 2 diabetic patients with diabetes, therapy should be started with 150 mg of irbesarta once a day, then increased to 300 mg once day. as a preferred maintenance dose for the treatment of renal failure. In renal and hepatic (mild to moderate) insufficiency, dose adjustment is not required. For patients on hemodialysis, a lower starting dose (75 mg) should be considered. Contraindications: children up to age 18; hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients; pregnancy and lactation; simultaneous use with medicinal products containing aliskiren in patients with diabetes mellitus and / or moderate to severe renal failure (GFR ml / min / 1.73 m2 of body surface). Precautions: before using the drug Aprovel, it is necessary to correct hypovolemia and / or hyponatremia. When using the drug in patients with renal failure, periodic monitoring of the concentration of potassium and serum creatinine is recommended. In patients with psoriasis (including a history), the decision to use the drug should be made only after a careful assessment of the risk / benefit ratio due to the possible exacerbation of the course of psoriasis. Patients with aortic or mitral stenosis or hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy require caution. As with the use of other antihypertensive drugs, a significant decrease in blood pressure in patients with coronary artery disease and / or severe cerebral atherosclerosis can lead to the development of myocardial infarction or stroke. Treatment should be carried out under the control of blood pressure. Side effects: hypersensitivity reactions (angioedema, skin rash, urticaria, anaphylactic shock); dizziness, headache; vertigo; tinnitus; orthostatic hypotension; edema, tachycardia; cough; nausea, vomiting; diarrhea, dyspepsia, heartburn; jaundice; hepatitis, photosensitivity reactions, myalgia, arthralgia, muscle spasms; impaired renal function; increased fatigue; chest pain. Storage: Store at a temperature not exceeding 30C, out of reach of children. Packaging: cardboard boxes contain 14 p / o tablets in aluminum blisters.
