Cetafen Plus N 30 tablets
Ingredients:
Ibuprofen 200 mg
Paracetamol 500 mg
Caffeine 65 mg.
Description:
A combination analgesic-antipyretic for symptomatic relief of pain and fever. Ibuprofen reduces inflammation and pain, paracetamol provides analgesia and antipyresis, caffeine enhances analgesic effects and reduces drowsiness. Intended for short-term use in adults.
Indications:
Headache (including migraine), toothache, backache, rheumatic pain.
Dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation).
Cold and flu symptoms (fever, sore throat, body aches).
Neuralgia, myalgia.
Dosage and Administration:
Adults (over 18): 1 tablet up to 3 times daily after meals.
Max dose: Not more than 2 tablets per dose and 6 tablets per day.
Interval: At least 6 hours between doses.
Duration: Not more than 3–5 days without medical advice.
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to ibuprofen, paracetamol, caffeine, or excipients.
- Asthma, urticaria, or allergic reactions to NSAIDs (aspirin, ibuprofen).
- Peptic ulcer disease, GI bleeding or perforation.
- Severe heart failure (NYHA Class IV), renal or hepatic failure.
- Third trimester of pregnancy, lactation, children under 18 years.
Precautions:
- Paracetamol overdose: Do not combine with other paracetamol-containing products. Risk of severe liver damage.
- GI risk: Use cautiously in elderly, patients with ulcer history, or those taking corticosteroids/anticoagulants.
- Cardiovascular risk: Avoid prolonged use in hypertension, CVD.
- Caffeine: Limit coffee, tea, energy drinks to avoid caffeine overdose.
- Liver/kidney: Caution in mild to moderate impairment.
Adverse Reactions:
- GI: Nausea, abdominal pain, heartburn, ulcers, bleeding.
- Allergic: Skin rash, bronchospasm, anaphylaxis.
- Liver: Elevated liver enzymes, hepatotoxicity (overdose).
- Other: Dizziness, tachycardia, insomnia (due to caffeine).
Pregnancy and Lactation:
Pregnancy: Contraindicated in third trimester. In first–second trimesters, use only if benefits outweigh risks.
Lactation: Caffeine excreted in breast milk. Not recommended.
Storage:
Store below 30°C in a dry place.
