Composition:
Active ingredient:
Leflunomide — 10 mg.
Pharmacological properties:
Immunosuppressive action — suppresses T-lymphocyte activity.
Anti-inflammatory action — reduces the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines.
Prevents progression of joint damage.
Improves functional status and mobility of joints.
Indications for use:
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) — active form.
Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) — as prescribed by a physician.
Dosage and administration:
Loading dose:
May include a loading dose of 100 mg for 3 days.
Maintenance dose:
For rheumatoid arthritis — 10 or 20 mg once daily, depending on disease severity;
For psoriatic arthritis — 20 mg once daily.
Tablets are taken orally, after meals or regardless of food intake, with water.
The effect develops gradually — within 4–6 weeks, with the maximum effect achieved within 3–6 months.
Side effects:
Common:
Nausea, diarrhea, headache, increased blood pressure.
Rare:
Alopecia, rash, increased liver enzyme activity, dizziness.
Very rare:
Toxic epidermal necrolysis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome.
If side effects occur, it is recommended to consult a physician.
Сontraindications:
Hypersensitivity to leflunomide or any components of the medication.
Severe liver and kidney impairment.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
Severe blood disorders.
Special warnings and precautions:

Women of childbearing age should use effective contraception.
