Paroxetine CR 12.5 mg 30 tablets Ingredients: Each tablet contains 12,5 mg paroxetine Description: Paroxetine 12.5 mg is tablet is a type of antidepressant belonging to the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) group of medicines. It is widely prescribed to treat depression and anxiety-related conditions like panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Properties: Paroxetine tablet helps many people to recover from depression by improving their mood and relieving anxiety and tension. It can be taken with or without food. The dose and how often you need it will be decided by your doctor so that you get the right amount to control your symptoms. Indications: Paroxetine can be used to treat the following conditions: -depressive disorder -obsessive-compulsive disorder -panic disorder -social anxiety disorder-generalized anxiety disorder -post-traumatic stress disorder -premenstrual dysphoric disorder -vasomotor symptoms of menopause -Paroxetine may be used as part of a combination therapy. This means you may need to take it with other medications. Dosage and Method of administrations: Take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once daily in the morning. Taking this medication with food may decrease nausea.The dosage is based on your medical condition, response to treatment, age, and other medications you may be taking. Adult dosage (ages 18–64 years) The typical starting dose is 20 mg per day If you don’t respond to a 20-mg dose, your doctor will start increasing your dose each week by 10 mg per day. Your maximum daily dose shouldn’t exceed 50 mg per day. Senior dosage (ages 65 years and older) The recommended starting dose is 10 mg per day. The maximum dose is 40 mg per day. Side effects: Dryness in mouth, Dizziness, Tremors, Insomnia (difficulty in sleeping), Delayed ejaculation, Decreased libido, Headache, Weakness, Diaphoresis, Gastrointestinal intolerance, Drowsiness -Paroxetine oral tablet can cause drowsiness and may affect your ability to make decisions, think clearly, or react quickly. -You shouldn’t drive, use heavy machinery, or do other activities for which you need to be alert until you know how this drug affects you. Warning and Precautions: -Paroxetine oral tablet can be used for long-term or short-term treatment. It comes with serious risks if you don’t take it as prescribed. -Do not change the dose or stop taking it without talking to your doctor, even if you feel well. Doing so may make your condition worse or you may suffer from unpleasant withdrawal symptoms (anxiety, restlessness, palpitations, dizziness, sleep disturbances, etc). -To get the most benefit, take this medicine regularly at the same time each day. -Allergy warning: This drug can cause a severe allergic reaction. If you have an allergic reaction, call your doctor or local poison control center right away. -Don’t take this drug again if you’ve ever had an allergic reaction to it. Taking it again could be fatal (cause death). -Alcohol interaction You should avoid drinks that contain alcohol when taking this drug. -Warnings for people with certain health conditions -For people with glaucoma: Paroxetine may dilate your pupils, which may trigger a glaucoma attack. -For people with bipolar disorder: Caution should be used when taking this drug if you have bipolar disorder. Taking paroxetine alone may trigger a mixed or manic episode. -For people with seizures: Caution should be used when taking this drug if you have a history of seizures. If seizures occur while you take this drug, you should stop taking it and contact your doctor. -For people with kidney disease: If you have kidney disease, your kidneys may not be able to get rid of this drug as well as they should. This may cause levels of the drug to build up in your body and cause more side effects. -For people with liver disease: If you have liver disease, your body may not be able to process this drug as well as it should. This may increase the levels of this drug to build up in your body and cause more side effects. Warnings for other groups: -For pregnant people: This drug should be only used if the potential risk is acceptable given the drug’s potential benefit. -For people who are nursing: This drug passes into breast milk and may cause side effects in a child who is nursed. Caution should be used when taking this drug while nursing. -For seniors: The kidneys of older adults may not work as well as they used to. This can cause your body to process drugs more slowly. As a result, more of a drug stays in your body for a longer time. This raises your risk of side effects. -For children: It hasn’t been confirmed that this drug is safe and effective for use in people younger than 18 years. Contraindications: -Women are trying to become pregnant, are already pregnant or you are breastfeeding. -People who have glaucoma – paroxetine can increase the pressure in your eye. -People who have epilepsy or are having electroconvulsive treatment – paroxetine may increase your seizures (fits). -Children under 18 Storage: Store the medicine in a closed container at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct light.
