Tiralepsi 500 mg 30 tablets Composition Each tablet contains: • Levetiracetam — 500 mg Pharmacological properties Levetiracetam is an antiepileptic drug with a unique mechanism of action: 1. Modulates neuronal activity: binds to the SV2A protein in synaptic vesicles, which reduces excessive neuronal excitability. 2. Reduces the frequency of seizures: effective in partial and generalized forms of epilepsy. 3. Good tolerability: minimal interaction with other drugs, does not require titration of liver enzymes. Indications for use • Partial (focal) epileptic seizures, with or without secondary generalization • Myoclonic seizures (especially in juvenile myoclonic epilepsy) • Tonic-clonic generalized seizures Method of administration and dosage The doctor determines the dose and duration of use depending on the patient's condition. This medicine should not be used without medical supervision. For adults aged 16 years and older: The initial dose is 1000 mg per day in divided doses (one 500 mg tablet twice a day). The dose may be gradually increased depending on the degree of response, but the dose should not exceed 3000 mg. For children aged 4-16 years: The initial dose is 20 mg / kg of body weight, divided into two doses per day, each of which is 10 mg / kg of body weight. The daily dose can be gradually increased by 20 mg/kg until it reaches 60 mg/kg (30 mg/kg twice daily).
