Depram 20 mg 20 tablets

Available at Pharmaegy Pharmacy. Use as directed by your doctor.

Depram 20 mg 20 film coated tablets Composition: Citalopram hydrobromide 20 mg Description: This medication is used to treat depression. Citalopram belongs to a class of drugs known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). It works by helping to restore the balance of a certain natural substance (serotonin) in the brain. Indications: This antidepressant is useful in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder, social phobia, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It may be indicated for pain, insomnia, and migraine as well. Dosage and administration: It usually takes around 7 days before you begin to notice the effects of antidepressants. Contact your doctor if you have not noticed any improvement after 4 weeks, as they may recommend increasing your dose or trying a different antidepressant. It's usually recommended that a course of antidepressants lasts at least 6 months, to prevent your condition recurring when you stop. Some people with recurrent illness are advised to carry on taking medicine indefinitely. The recommended course of treatment largely depends on weighing up the benefits of the medicine against the side effects. -Hepatic impairment: According to product labeling, the dosage needs to be reduced to 20 mg daily for patients with hepatic impairment. -Renal impairment: No dose adjustment is necessary for patients with mild-to-moderate renal impairment. Patients with severe renal impairments should be closely monitored for possible adverse reactions. Contraindications: -Patients with severe renal impairments should be closely monitored for possible adverse reactions. -Pregnancy considerations: Citalopram is an FDA pregnancy category C drug. Citalopram is not an absolute contraindication in pregnancy but is not generally recommended, especially during the first trimester. Warnings and precautions: •Some products that may interact with this drug are: other drugs that can cause bleeding/bruising (including antiplatelet drugs such as clopidogrel, NSAIDs such as ibuprofen/naproxen, "blood thinners" such as dabigatran/warfarin). Aspirin can increase the risk of bleeding when used with this medication. Pregnancy and lactation: Both psychiatric experts and ob-gyn experts agree that if you have mild depression and have been symptom-free for at least six months, you may be able to stop using antidepressants under a doctor’s supervision before getting pregnant or while you are pregnant. But, the experts point out, it will be better for both you and your baby to stay on antidepressants while pregnant if any of the following is true: -You have a history of severe or recurrent depression; -You have a history of other mental illnesses, such as bipolar disorder; -You have ever been suicidal. Side effects: Nausea, increased appetite and weight gain, loss of sexual desire and other sexual problems, such as erectile dysfunction and decreased orgasm, fatigue and drowsiness, insomnia, dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, dizziness, agitation, irritability, anxiety. Storage: Store at a room temperature 20°C to 25°C. Package: Carton box holds 2 strips each of 10 tablets and paper instructions
