The safe daily dose of Gabapentin is 3600 mg given that the total daily dose should be divided into 3 single doses in each case. In patients with impaired renal insufficiency or those undergoing hemodialysis, dose adjustment is necessary in accordance with the instructions of the physician. Care must be taken when discontinuing the drug with gradual withdrawal by reducing the dose within 7 days. Children 6 years of age and older: The initial dose should be 10 to 15 mg/kg/day and the effective dose is reached within no more than 3 days.
