Trade Name: Gabimash Gabapentin 300 mg 30 tablets Composition: Gabapentin 300 mg Inactive ingredients: Microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate Properties: Gabapentin is a new generation antiepileptic drug that increases gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) levels. Reduces the flow of calcium ions, which plays an important role in the occurrence of neuropathic pain. Other mechanisms of action of Gabapentin in neuropathic pain include a decrease in glutamate-dependent neuronal death. Indications: -Treatment of neuropathic pain in diabetic polyneuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia, neuropathic low back pain and trigeminal neuralgia. -In the treatment of partial seizures with or without secondary generalization. -As an adjuvant in patients who do not respond to or are intolerant to standard anti-epileptic drugs. Directions for use: -On the first day, 100 mg 3 times a day, then 200 mg 3 times a day (second day), then 300 mg 3 times a day (third day). The dose is increased on the 4th day to 400 mg 3 times a day and gradually increased to 2400 mg per day by the third week. -The safe daily dose of Gabapentin is 3600 mg, given that the total daily dose should be divided into 3 single doses in each case. -The first dose should be administered at bedtime to avoid any side effect. -In patients with renal impairment or those undergoing hemodialysis, dosage adjustments occur according to the physician’s instructions. -Caution must be taken when discontinuing the drug with gradual withdrawal by reducing the dose over 7 days. -Children 6 years of age and older: The initial dose should be 10 to 15 mg/kg/day, and the effective dose is achieved within no more than 3 days. The effective dose in children 6 years of age and older is 25 to 35 mg/kg/day. Dosages up to 50 mg/kg/day were well tolerated. The total daily dose should be divided into 3 single doses, the maximum interval should not exceed 12 hours. Side effects: Common: drowsiness, back pain, dizziness, fatigue, headache, nausea and vomiting. Contraindications: -Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients; -Pregnancy and lactation. Warnings and precautions: Patients are not recommended to drive or operate any equipment during Gabimash therapy. Use with caution in patients with mixed seizure syndrome. Patients receiving gabapentin should be monitored for new or worsening depression, suicidal ideation or behavior, and/or any unusual changes in mood or behavior. Keep out of the reach of children. Storage: Store in a dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C Package: Carton box holds 3 strips each of 10 tablets, and an insert leaflet.
