Properties:
Peripheral vasodilator. Improves intracellular metabolism (including in areas with impaired blood circulation), has an antiplatelet effect. Expands peripheral arteries, improves blood supply and oxygen supply to tissues, as well as blood circulation in the brain and retina. It helps to increase the level of ATP, improves the utilization of glucose and oxygen, reduces the level of lactic acid in cells under conditions of tissue hypoxia.
Indications:
– violation of cerebral circulation against the background of atherosclerotic lesions of cerebral vessels and cerebral vascular insufficiency, especially in old age;
– violations of the peripheral circulation (intermittent claudication, Raynaud’s disease, spasms of the calf muscles, pain in the legs at rest, paresthesia, acrocyanosis);
– trophic disorders (long-term non-healing ulcers, diabetic retinopathy).
Dosage and administration:
The drug is prescribed inside. The tablets are swallowed whole with a sufficient amount of water (at least a glass).
The drug is indicated for long-term oral therapy.
In case of cerebral circulation disorders, the drug is prescribed in a daily dose of 300 mg, divided into 3 doses in a single dose of 100 mg.
In case of violations of the peripheral circulation, the drug is prescribed in a daily dose of 300 to 600 mg, in a separate dosage.
The duration of therapy and dosage is determined by the doctor depending on the clinical condition of the patient.
The average course of admission is 3 months.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to naftidrofuril;
– myocardial infarction (acute stage);
– arterial hypotension;
– hemorrhagic stroke (acute stage);
-epilepsy;
-increased convulsive readiness;
– chronic heart failure stage II-III (III-IV functional class according to NYHA classification);
– tachyarrhythmias;
– age up to 18 years (efficacy and safety have not been established);
-increased individual sensitivity to the drug.
With caution: angle-closure glaucoma, prostatic hyperplasia.
Precautionary measures:
At the beginning of treatment, it is recommended to monitor the individual tolerability of the drug and the possibility of developing an antihypertensive effect in patients.
Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms:
During the period of use of naftidrofuryl, patients should be careful when driving vehicles and mechanisms, as well as when engaging in other potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions.
Side effects:
From the digestive system: nausea, vomiting, pain in the epigastric region, ulcers of the gastric mucosa, intestinal colic, diarrhea, loss of appetite.
From the nervous system: headache, dizziness, sleep disturbance.
Others: reversible increases in liver enzymes, allergic reactions.
