Properties:
Isoxsuprine is a peripheral vasodilator, β-adrenergic receptor agonist, reduces the tone of smooth muscles of blood vessels, eliminates their spasm, improves peripheral and cerebral circulation. It has a positive inotropic and chronotropic cardiac effect, as well as a tocolytic effect. Isoxsuprine has a slight bronchodilator effect. In high doses, it inhibits platelet aggregation and reduces blood viscosity.
Indications:
Peripheral circulation disorders of various origins: spasms of the arteries of the extremities, obliterating endarteritis, atherosclerosis of the arteries of the extremities, diabetic angiopathy, Raynaud’s disease and syndrome. Chronic cerebral vascular insufficiency of atherosclerotic origin, atherosclerosis of the retinal arteries. The threat of premature birth.
Dosage and administration:
In diseases accompanied by circulatory disorders – 10-20 mg 3-4 times a day after meals. The course of treatment is 2–3 months.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to isoxsuprine or other components of the drug, cerebral hemorrhages and uterine bleeding in history, arterial bleeding, angina pectoris, arterial hypotension, lactation period.
Precautionary measures:
With caution, isoxsuprine should be prescribed to elderly patients (due to the risk of developing orthostatic hypotension).
When taking the drug, you should refrain from driving potentially unsafe mechanisms and driving a car.
Side effects:
