Mobitil 15 mg 6 rectal suppositories Composition: Each suppository contains: Meloxicam 15 mg (active ingredient). Description: Mobitil is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for the long-term relief of pain and inflammation associated with rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. It helps reduce swelling, stiffness, and joint pain by inhibiting the production of inflammatory substances in the body. Indication: Long-term symptomatic treatment of: - Rheumatoid arthritis - Ankylosing spondylitis. Dosage and Method of Administration: Adults: One suppository (15 mg) once daily via rectal administration. Maximum dose: Do not exceed 15 mg/day. Elderly or high-risk patients: Start with 7.5 mg/day. Severe renal impairment (on dialysis): Do not exceed 7.5 mg/day. Not recommended for children and adolescents under 16 years of age. Important: Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration to reduce the risk of side effects. Contraindications: Do not use Mobitil in the following cases: -Pregnancy (third trimester) -Children and adolescents under 16 years -Known allergy to meloxicam, aspirin, or other NSAIDs -History of asthma, nasal polyps, angioedema, or urticaria with NSAIDs -Active or recurrent peptic ulcers or GI bleeding -Severe liver impairment -Severe renal impairment (not on dialysis) -Severe heart failure -Active gastrointestinal or cerebrovascular bleeding -Proctitis or rectal bleeding -Perioperative pain after coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. Precautions: -Use caution in elderly patients and those with: -History of ulcers or GI bleeding -Cardiovascular disease, hypertension, or fluid retention -Liver or kidney impairment -Avoid combining with other NSAIDs (including COX-2 inhibitors). May increase the risk of: -GI bleeding, ulcers, or perforation (can be fatal) -Heart attack or stroke, especially with long-term use -Skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) or toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) -Monitor blood pressure, kidney and liver function during long-term use -Not suitable for acute pain relief. Side Effects: Very Common / Common: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, flatulence, abdominal pain Headache, dizziness Indigestion, constipation. Uncommon: Increased blood pressure, edema Allergic skin reactions (rash, itching) Liver enzyme changes. Rare / Very Rare: Gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, or perforation Severe skin reactions (SJS, TEN) Hepatitis, liver damage Acute kidney failure Blood disorders (e.g. anemia, agranulocytosis) Mood changes, confusion. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Pregnancy: Contraindicated in the 3rd trimester due to risks to the fetus and mother Not recommended during the 1st and 2nd trimesters unless clearly necessary Breastfeeding: Not recommended. Like other NSAIDs, meloxicam may pass into breast milk. Storage Method: Store in a refrigerator at 2–8°C Keep in original packaging to protect from moisture and light Do not freeze.
