This "Extra Strength" formula is used for advanced maintenance. Because it contains 320 mcg of steroid per puff, it is highly effective at reducing airway swelling and preventing severe flare-ups. Primary Indications: Maintenance treatment of Asthma where a high-strength combination is required, and for the management of severe COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). Usage: Usually one inhalation twice daily (morning and evening). Some patients may be directed to take two inhalations twice daily. Important Note on Usage: Unlike the 160 strength, the 320/9 strength is generally NOT used for "Relief" (SMART therapy). It is intended for fixed, regular maintenance only. You should have a separate "rescue" inhaler (like Ventolin) if needed. Safety: You must rinse your mouth after use. High-dose steroids increase the risk of oral fungal infections if the residue is not washed away. Note: This is the original international brand by AstraZeneca.
