Ventolin is a "Reliever" or "Rescue" inhaler. It is used to stop sudden breathing problems and is not intended for daily preventative use unless directed by a doctor for exercise. Primary Indications: Immediate relief of Asthma symptoms (shortness of breath, wheezing, chest tightness) and COPD flare-ups. It is also used 10–15 minutes before exercise to prevent activity-triggered asthma. Usage: Usually 1 or 2 puffs when symptoms occur. Do not exceed 8 puffs in 24 hours without medical advice. Important: If you use this more than 3 times a week for symptom relief, your asthma may not be well-controlled. You should talk to your doctor about starting or adjusting a "Preventer" inhaler (like Seretide or Beclosone). Note: This is the original international brand by GSK (GlaxoSmithKline).
