This medication is known as a "Buffered PPI." It is used for more intense or persistent acid-related issues where rapid relief is required. Primary Indications: Gastric Ulcers: Short-term treatment (4–8 weeks) of active benign stomach ulcers. Severe GERD: For the treatment of heartburn and erosive esophagitis (acid damage to the esophagus). H. pylori Eradication: Part of the multi-drug regimen to eliminate stomach bacteria. Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: Management of extreme acid overproduction. Secondary Indications (GIT & Critical Care): Reduction of Upper GI Bleeding Risk: Used in critically ill patients to prevent stress-related bleeding in the stomach. Rapid Acid Neutralization: The sodium bicarbonate provides immediate relief of "fire" in the stomach while the omeprazole works on long-term acid suppression. Usage: Usually one capsule daily. It must be taken on an empty stomach, at least one hour before a meal. Important: * Sodium Intake: Because it contains 1100 mg of Sodium Bicarbonate, use with caution if you are on a low-salt diet or have high blood pressure or heart failure. Do Not Crush: Swallow the capsule whole to ensure the medicine works correctly. Alkalosis: Long-term use of high-dose bicarbonate can affect the body's acid-base balance.
