Adapagel 0.1% – 30g Cream/Gel
Available at Pharmaegy Pharmacy. Use as directed by your doctor.
Intro: Adapagel contains Adapalene, a third-generation retinoid. It is known for being more stable and generally better tolerated (less irritating) than Tretinoin (Acretin). It specifically targets the receptors in the skin that regulate cell turnover and inflammation.
Indications:
Acne Vulgaris: Highly effective for mild-to-moderate acne, blackheads, and whiteheads.
Photoaging: Softens fine lines and improves skin texture with long-term use.
Hair Loss (Off-Label): Used in combination with Mometasone or Minoxidil to treat Alopecia Areata and improve scalp penetration.
Stretch Marks: Can help improve the texture of new (red) marks, though results are typically slower than with Tretinoin.
How to Use:
Face: Apply a pea-sized amount to dry skin once daily, ideally 1 hour before bedtime.
Scalp: For hair loss, it is typically applied to the affected patch as a thin film before other treatments.
Stretch Marks: Massage a thin layer into the area nightly.
Crucial Rules:
SPF 15+ or Higher: Mandatory during the day; even though Adapalene is light-stable, it makes your skin more prone to sunburn.
Moisturize: Apply a moisturizer after the gel to prevent dryness.
Pregnancy: Avoid use during pregnancy unless specifically directed by a doctor.
Generic International Brands: Differin, Adapalene USP, Galderma, La Roche-Posay Effaclar Adapalene.
