Orly 120mg – 30 Weight Loss Capsules
Available at Pharmaegy Pharmacy. Use as directed by your doctor.
Intro: Orly is a widely used weight management medication in Egypt, manufactured by Eva Pharma. Its active ingredient is Orlistat (120mg), a potent lipase inhibitor. Unlike supplements that suppress appetite, Orly works directly in your digestive system to block the enzyme that breaks down dietary fat. This prevents about 30% of the fat you eat from being absorbed, allowing it to pass out of the body naturally.
Indications:
Obesity Management: For individuals with a BMI of 30 or higher.
Overweight with Risk Factors: For those with a BMI of 27+ who also have conditions like hypertension, diabetes, or high cholesterol.
Weight Maintenance: To help prevent weight regain after successful weight loss.
How to Use:
Dosage: Take 1 capsule 3 times daily with each main meal containing fat.
Timing: Take it during the meal or up to 1 hour after eating.
Crucial Rule: If you skip a meal or eat a meal that contains no fat, skip the dose. Orly only works when fat is present in the digestive tract.
Crucial Rules:
Dietary Balance: Your daily fat intake should be distributed across three meals and should not exceed 30% of your total calories. Eating a very high-fat meal while taking Orly significantly increases side effects.
Side Effects: Common "treatment effects" include oily spotting on underwear, flatulence with discharge, and fatty/oily stools. These are signs the medication is working by blocking fat absorption.
Vitamin Supplementation: Because it reduces fat absorption, it also reduces the intake of fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K). It is highly recommended to take a multivitamin at bedtime (at least 2 hours after your last Orly dose).
Contraindications: Do not use if you have chronic malabsorption syndrome, gallbladder problems (cholestasis), or are pregnant/breastfeeding.
Generic International Brands: Xenical (Original Brand), Alli (60mg OTC version), Orlistat (Various Generics).
