Healosol – 50ml Topical Spray

Available at Pharmaegy Pharmacy. Use as directed by your doctor.

Intro: Healosol is a fast-acting topical spray produced by D.B.K. Pharma. It is unique because it combines Phenytoin (a substance that speeds up cell division and collagen formation) and Chloramphenicol (a broad-spectrum antibiotic). This "dual-action" formula is designed to simultaneously fight infection and rapidly close open wounds that are otherwise slow to heal. Indications: Slow-Healing Wounds: Chronic ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, and bedsores. Traumatic Wounds: Skin abrasions, deep cuts, and lacerations. Surgical Sites: Used to promote healing in post-operative incisions or skin graft donor sites. Infected Burns: Specifically for minor burns that show signs of infection or delayed closure. How to Use: Dosage: Shake the bottle well and spray a thin layer over the affected area 1 to 2 times daily. Preparation: Clean the wound with sterile saline (saltwater) and remove any excess debris before spraying. Application: Hold the spray about 10–15 cm away from the skin. You can leave the wound uncovered or apply a light sterile dressing as directed by your doctor. Crucial Rules: Specific Use: It is intended for chronic or difficult wounds. For simple, clean cuts, a standard antibiotic ointment is usually sufficient. Systemic Absorption: Although it is a spray, if used on very large open areas for long periods, the phenytoin could technically enter the bloodstream. Monitor for unusual symptoms like gum swelling if used long-term. Side Effects: May cause a mild, temporary stinging sensation. Some patients may develop a local skin rash (allergy). Pregnancy: Consult a doctor before use, as phenytoin is generally avoided during pregnancy unless absolutely necessary. Generic International Brands: Phenytoin Topical, Healo-Plus, Poly-Pheny.
