Iverzine 1% – 30g Topical Cream
Available at Pharmaegy Pharmacy. Use as directed by your doctor.
Intro: Iverzine 1% Cream is a specialized dermatological treatment manufactured by UniPharma. Its active ingredient is Ivermectin (1%). While Ivermectin is famously used orally for parasites, this specific 1% cream formulation is primarily designed as a breakthrough treatment for Rosacea. It works through a dual action: it kills Demodex mites (which are often found in higher numbers on the skin of people with rosacea) and acts as a potent anti-inflammatory to reduce redness and bumps.
Indications:
Rosacea (Inflammatory Lesions): Used to treat the "pimples" and redness associated with papulopustular rosacea.
Demodex Folliculitis: Targeted treatment for skin conditions caused by an overgrowth of skin mites.
Secondary Uses: Sometimes prescribed off-label by dermatologists for stubborn cases of seborrheic dermatitis or specific types of acne.
How to Use:
Dosage: Apply once daily (usually at bedtime).
Application: Use a pea-sized amount for each area of the face (forehead, chin, nose, and each cheek).
Technique: Spread it in a thin, even layer across the entire face, avoiding the eyes, lips, and inside the nose.
Tip: Wash your hands immediately after application.
Crucial Rules:
Duration: It often takes 4 to 12 weeks to see a significant improvement. Do not stop early if you don't see results in the first week.
Sun Protection: Rosacea skin is very sensitive to the sun. Always use a gentle sunscreen during the day while using this cream.
Side Effects: Generally very well tolerated. Some may experience a mild burning sensation, itching, or dry skin in the first few days of use.
Pregnancy: Consult a doctor; while topical absorption is low, it is generally avoided in pregnancy unless necessary.
Generic International Brands: Soolantra (Original Brand), Ivermectin 1% Cream.
