Once swallowed, the drug accumulates in the skin, hair, and nails at levels high enough to kill the fungus (fungicidal action). Indications: Onychomycosis (Nail Fungus): The primary treatment for fungal infections of the fingernails and toenails. Severe Athlete's Foot: For chronic, "moccasin-type" infections that don't respond to creams. Widespread Body Ringworm: When the infection is too extensive for topical treatment. Scalp Ringworm (Adults): Treating fungal infections in adult hair follicles. How to Use: Dosage: Typically 1 tablet (250mg) once daily. Timing: Can be taken with or without food. Taking it at the same time each day helps maintain consistent levels in the blood. Duration: * Skin infections: 2 to 4 weeks. Fingernail fungus: 6 weeks. Toenail fungus: 12 weeks or longer (until a healthy nail grows out). Crucial Rules: Liver Monitoring: This is a systemic drug. It is contraindicated in patients with chronic or active liver disease.
