Available at Pharmaegy Pharmacy. Use as directed by your doctor.

Intro: Itracon is a powerful systemic antifungal medication produced by Global Napi Pharmaceuticals (GNP). Its active ingredient is Itraconazole (100mg). It is a broad-spectrum treatment, meaning it is effective against a wide variety of fungi and yeasts. It is often prescribed for deep-seated infections in the nails, skin, or internal organs where topical creams are ineffective. Indications: Onychomycosis: Fungal infections of the fingernails or toenails. Vulvovaginal Candidiasis: Persistent or recurrent vaginal yeast infections. Systemic Mycoses: Deep fungal infections affecting the lungs or other internal systems (e.g., Aspergillosis, Histoplasmosis). Fungal Skin Infections: Severe cases of Ringworm (Tinea) or Pityriasis Versicolor that do not respond to creams. Oral Thrush: Fungal infections of the mouth or throat. How to Use: The Full Meal Rule: Itracon capsules must be taken immediately after a full meal. Stomach acid is required for the drug to dissolve and be absorbed. If you have low stomach acid, taking it with a cola beverage can help absorption. Dosage: * Skin/Mouth infections: Usually 100mg (1 capsule) once daily for 15 days. Nail infections: Often 200mg (2 capsules) once daily for 3 months, or "pulse therapy" (high doses for 1 week a month). Vaginal yeast: 200mg twice daily for only 1 day. Timing: Swallow the capsules whole with water; do not chew or open them. Crucial Rules: Heart Warning: Itraconazole should be avoided if you have a history of Congestive Heart Failure (CHF). If you experience sudden shortness of breath or swelling in your legs, stop the drug and call a doctor. Liver Health: Long-term use requires monitoring liver enzymes. Stop use if you notice yellowing of the skin/eyes or dark urine. Drug Interactions: Itracon has many interactions. Avoid taking Antacids (like Maalox or Gaviscon) at the same time; wait at least 2 hours. Pregnancy: Strictly forbidden during pregnancy. Women of childbearing age must use effective contraception during and for one month after treatment. Generic International Brands: Sporanox (Original Brand), Itranox, Itrapex.
