No-Uric 300mg – 20 Oral Tablets
Available at Pharmaegy Pharmacy. Use as directed by your doctor.
Intro: No-Uric 300mg is the higher-strength version of Allopurinol, produced by EIPICO. This 300mg dose is typically the "maintenance dose" for adults once their initial treatment period is over. It provides a more convenient way to take the medication, as one 300mg tablet replaces three 100mg tablets, simplifying the daily routine for long-term gout management.
Indications:
Maintenance Gout Therapy: Used daily to keep uric acid levels low and prevent future attacks.
Severe Hyperuricemia: For patients with very high uric acid levels that don't respond to the 100mg dose.
Tophaceous Gout: Helps dissolve large deposits of uric acid crystals (tophi) around joints.
Cancer Therapy Support: Prevents sharp rises in uric acid during chemotherapy for certain cancers.
How to Use:
Dosage: The standard adult maintenance dose is usually 1 tablet (300mg) once daily.
Timing: Must be taken immediately after a meal. This is crucial to prevent the stomach irritation and nausea that can occur with the higher 300mg dose.
Hydration: You must maintain high fluid intake. Aim for at least 2 to 3 liters of water per day to help your kidneys process the uric acid effectively.
Crucial Rules:
Divided Doses: If your doctor prescribes more than 300mg per day (e.g., 600mg), the dose should be split (one in the morning, one in the evening) rather than taken all at once.
Never Stop Suddenly: Stopping Allopurinol abruptly can cause a massive "rebound" gout attack. Only stop under medical supervision.
Liver & Kidney Monitoring: Because 300mg is a higher dose, regular blood tests to check kidney function and liver enzymes are even more important.
Skin Reaction Check: Be vigilant for any rash. The risk of serious skin reactions is slightly higher when starting at higher doses or in patients with kidney issues.
Generic International Brands: Zyloric (Reference Brand), Allopurinol, Purinol.
