Available at Pharmaegy Pharmacy. Use as directed by your doctor.

Ciprocin Eye ointment 3 mg 5 g Composition: Each 1 g contains: Ciprofloxacin HCl monohydrate micronized 3.5 mg eq. to Ciprofloxacin 3 mg. Description: Antimicrobial agent from the fluoroquinolone group for topical ophthalmic use. Contains ciprofloxacin — a broad-spectrum antibiotic that inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase. Used for treating bacterial eye infections and adjacent tissues. Indications: Bacterial conjunctivitis and blepharitis. Corneal ulcers and abscesses. Infections caused by susceptible bacterial strains. Dosage and Administration: Adults and children from 1 year: Corneal ulcers: 1.25 cm ointment strip into the conjunctival sac every 1–2 hours for 2 days, then every 4 hours for the next 12 days. Conjunctivitis/blepharitis: 1.25 cm ointment strip 3 times daily for 2 days, then twice daily for 5 days. Important: Do not touch the tip of the tube to the eye or other surfaces. Close eyes for 2 minutes after application to reduce systemic absorption. If using other eye products, apply ointment last (5-minute interval). Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to ciprofloxacin, other quinolones, or excipients. Children under 1 year (not studied). Neonatal conjunctivitis in newborns (not recommended). Precautions: Resistance: Prolonged use may promote growth of non-susceptible organisms or fungi. Photosensitivity: Avoid excessive UV exposure during treatment. Systemic reactions: Discontinue immediately if signs of allergy occur (rash, facial swelling, dyspnea). Pediatrics: Risk of tendon disorders (rare). Pregnancy and lactation: Only if benefits outweigh risks (insufficient data). Adverse Effects: Common (>1%): Burning, ocular discomfort (transient). White corneal precipitates (resolve spontaneously). Taste disturbance (metallic taste). Rare (<1%): Blurred vision, photophobia, hyperemia, eyelid edema. Headache, nausea, dizziness. Very rare: Allergic reactions (up to anaphylaxis). Tendinitis, tendon rupture (with systemic quinolone use). Storage: Store below 30°C. Use within 28 days after opening. Keep out of reach of children. Package: Aluminum tube with elongated nozzle and plastic cap, 5 g + leaflet.
