Otal – 5ml Ear Drops

Available at Pharmaegy Pharmacy. Use as directed by your doctor.

Intro: Otal Ear Drops are a multi-action treatment produced by Amoun Pharmaceuticals. It is a powerful "4-in-1" formula containing two antibiotics (Framycetin and Gramicidin), a corticosteroid (Dexamethasone), and a local anesthetic (Cinchocaine). This combination is designed to kill bacteria, reduce swelling/itching, and provide fast pain relief for ear infections. Indications: Otitis Externa: Treatment of bacterial infections of the outer ear canal. Ear Pain (Otalgia): Rapid relief of pain caused by inflammation or pressure. Inflammatory Conditions: Reduces edema (swelling), itching, and redness in the ear. Otitis Media: Used in specific cases of middle ear congestion, provided the eardrum is intact. How to Use: Dosage (Adults): Usually 3 to 5 drops into the affected ear, 3 to 4 times daily. Dosage (Children/Infants): Usually 2 to 3 drops, 3 to 4 times daily. Application: Tilt your head so the affected ear faces up. Drop the medicine in and stay in that position for a few minutes to ensure it reaches deep into the canal. Duration: Do not use for more than 7 days unless directed by a doctor. Crucial Rules: Perforated Eardrum: Never use Otal if you have a hole or perforation in your eardrum. Fungal/Viral Infections: Do not use if the infection is caused by a fungus or a virus, as the steroid can make these worse. Contamination: Do not touch the dropper tip to your ear or fingers to keep the solution sterile. Side Effects: Some people may experience mild stinging, burning, or a skin rash around the ear. Generic International Brands: Similar to Sofradex or Otocort.
