Intro: Concor 10 Plus is the high-strength combination therapy from Amoun (under license from Merck). It combines a high dose of Bisoprolol (10mg) with a stronger dose of the diuretic Hydrochlorothiazide (25mg). This medication is a "heavy hitter" for blood pressure; it is used when patients have severe hypertension that remains uncontrolled even with the 5 Plus version or other combinations. Indications: Severe Essential Hypertension: Managing very high blood pressure by simultaneously slowing the heart and removing excess body fluid. Resistant Hypertension: For patients whose blood pressure did not reach the target goal on single-ingredient medications. Volume-Related High BP: Helping patients who struggle with both high pressure and fluid retention (edema). How to Use: Dosage: Usually one tablet daily in the morning. Timing: Because of the 25mg diuretic (which is a significant dose), take it early in the day. Taking it at night will likely result in multiple trips to the bathroom, disrupting your sleep. Administration: Swallow whole with water. Do not crush. Crucial Rules: Potassium Monitoring: The 25mg of diuretic in this tablet is strong enough to significantly lower your potassium levels. Your doctor will likely require regular blood tests to check your electrolytes. The Withdrawal Danger: Never stop this medication suddenly. Because of the 10mg Bisoprolol component, stopping abruptly can cause your heart to race uncontrollably or lead to a hypertensive crisis. Gout & Uric Acid: This dose of Hydrochlorothiazide can raise uric acid levels significantly. If you have a history of gout, watch for joint pain and inform your doctor.
